How Do You Guys Do it?
This simulation called life is constantly trying to bowl me over.
There’s this funny thing that always happens.
I have periods of relative calm at work. A project here, some things to oversee there, but it’s all reasonably spaced out.
Life lulls me into this false sense of “look at you standing on business like a badass” where I start thinking I’ve got my act together and I should start a podcast.
Then it pulls the rug out from under me.
Deadlines suddenly converge. Reverts from weeks ago come flooding in and everything goes haywire.
Always. At. The. Same. Damn. Time.
I’m in a toxic relationship with pressure. I absolutely hate it, but I’ve also done some of my best work under it.
Being in the eye of the storm – absurdly – helps me focus. I see myself trimming the problem down to its basic form of ‘what’s broken and how do we fix it?’
Riding the lightning. POW. ⚡️
I feel like it’s an outlet for all the nervous, restless energy I have…the myriad of creative ideas that are born in milliseconds and die screaming in the darkness, unrealised and forgotten.
