My brain’s a bit like a popcorn machine.

Ideas pop up constantly, bouncing around, bumping into each other, and multiplying like rabbits on a sugar rush. It’s exciting, exhilarating, and I assure you, utterly overwhelming.

Sound familiar? If you’re an ideas person, you know the struggle. That constant influx of inspiration can be both a blessing and a curse. One minute you’re buzzing with possibilities, the next you’re paralyzed by the sheer volume of them. You sneer jealously at the people who say they’re drawing blanks.

The problem is, too many ideas often lead to inaction. Like a former boss once told me, ideas are cheap. We get so caught up in the excitement of the what if that we forget about the how. We bounce from one shiny concept to the next, never fully committing to any of them.

And it’s a terrible feeling, looking back on the year and seeing that while you had a bounty of ideas, it’s been a wasteland of execution. Literally.

So, how do we tame this idea overload and actually make things happen? I have a few suggestions.

What Was That Idea Again? Don’t let those brilliant ideas vanish into the ether. Carry a notebook, use…
